So long as the interpretation and application of the provisions of the Constitution is consistent with God, Nature, and Common Sense it is the supreme law of the land. Where I part company is allowing any man-made law precedence over reality, or, as I prefer to call it, God, Nature, and Common Sense. It should be obvious that no man-made law can ever overrule reality.
Yes, I realize that opens possibility of accusations of “unfairness”, but I stand by the principle because in my life’s experience —
Fair doesn’t have anything to do with it. There is Ethics. There is Honor. There is Duty. There is Respect. There is Obligation. By fulfilling these individual principles a man may know Joy.
But there is no such thing as Fair.
That said, the Constitution of the United States of America is the only set of man-made law to which I have sworn allegiance with an oath having no expiration date. You will find me defending Constitutional Principle even when the task is difficult or onerous to me so long as I believe that I am defending actual Constitutional Principle and not some looney-tunes redefinition of terms. I have taken in the past and may take in the future action based on that oath which I would not otherwise consider.
